In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the important speech of general secretary Xi Jinping at the forum of scientists, we should carry out the practice of "learning party history, realizing ideology, doing practical work and opening up new bureaus" in practical action, and put the party history education into practice. On the afternoon of April 7, our university held a forum on the construction of liberal arts journals in Minglun campus. Sun Junjian, member of the Standing Committee of the Party committee and vice president of the University, attended the forum. The person in charge of the Research Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and the person in charge of the editorial departments of Journal of Henan University, monthly journal of history, study of Chinese language and literature, study of foreign languages, study of Biblical literature, civilization and sustainable development of the Yellow River, and humanities attended the forum, The symposium was presided over by Zhan long, President of the Academy of Humanities and social sciences.
The person in charge of the liberal arts periodicals of our university briefly introduced the basic situation of the periodicals, reported in detail the difficulties encountered in the construction of the periodicals, and exchanged the experience of running the periodicals. Under the background of quantitative evaluation of journals, all journals are faced with great pressure to run journals. There is a general lack of professional editors and investment.
Sun Junjian pointed out that academic journals are an important part of the construction of the connotation of academic culture in Colleges and universities, a carrier for the continuation of academic pulse and a platform for the collection of resources, as well as a window for highlighting characteristics and displaying disciplines. They can not only expand the influence of disciplines, but also improve the reputation of disciplines, which is of great significance for promoting discipline development, promoting discipline innovation, personnel training and internationalization. At present, some journals of our university have a certain influence in the academic circle, but there are still many problems to be solved urgently: first, to discuss and analyze. The editorial department should carry out in-depth discussion, extensive communication and systematic analysis on how to run a good journal. It should not only analyze the problems existing in the construction of the journal, but also highlight the characteristics of running the journal, and solve the problems in a targeted and step-by-step manner. Second, it should strengthen communication. The editorial department should strengthen the communication and exchange with the domestic excellent academic journals of the same kind, learn from their mature experience, learn from each other's strong points and make up for their weaknesses, and innovate; third, improve the mechanism. The editorial department should constantly improve the construction of periodical mechanism, work hard in the review mechanism and column setting, and fully realize the important role of mechanism innovation in promoting the high-quality development of periodicals. Fourth, we should establish awareness. The editors should firmly adhere to the broad academic vision and insight in the selection of journals. Fifth, it should be combined with discipline construction. Discipline is the basis of journals. The progress of discipline can promote the development of academic journals. The orientation of academic journals will affect the direction of discipline construction. We should correctly understand the importance of the relationship between discipline construction and academic journals. Relying units should provide good conditions for journals to run, and journals should feed back on discipline construction.
There are 7 kinds of liberal arts journals in our university, among which journal of Henan University (SOCIAL SCIENCE EDITION), monthly journal of history and biblical literature research are selected as CSSCI (2019-2020) source journals and National People's Congress reprinted source journals.
